ABOUT ME

I have always been in love with food and the incredible power it holds in our lives. I began my cooking escapades over a campfire while working a summer gig as a canoe tripper in Northern Ontario. It offered me the opportunity to experiment and learn more about how we cook and the impact it has on our health, as well as natural environment. While in university I ate what was cheap and available.  In my fourth year, I started to realize the impact this had on my overall holistic health - mental, physical and emotional. It was in my university kitchen that I began my research on plant based diets and eating whole foods.

Food is so much more than sustenance; it’s a way of life, with the potential to bring us together or tear us apart, as well as holding emotional control and dictating our moods. It is here in the space between foods that fuel and foods that harm, that I was inspired to quit my full time corporate job to pursue a career in holistic nutrition. I loved the idea of supporting people from all walks of life gain access to and understanding of, good whole foods. I once read regarding the concept of food as a love language that ‘if someone doesn’t let me cook for them it’s as if they aren’t letting me hug them’.
